Things To Do Without A Badge: Comic-Con 2026

No Badge? No Problem❗

Free Things to Do During San Diego Comic-Con 2026

Comic-Con 2026 is taking over downtown San Diego from Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, July 26, with Preview Night on Wednesday, July 22. The badges may be sold out, but the fun absolutely does not stop at the Convention Center doors.

Even without a badge, you can spend the week bouncing between giant studio activations, gaming lounges, immersive pop-ups, art shows, cosplay meetups, pet costumes and enough free swag to test the structural integrity of your tote bag.

This guide focuses on experiences that are free and open to the public without a Comic-Con badge. Some require a free RSVP or reservation, while others are first come, first served. Food, drinks and merchandise may cost extra where noted.

Updated July 10, 2026

Comic-Con offsites love a last-minute announcement. Dates, hours and entry procedures can change, so check the linked event page before heading downtown.

Before You Go

  • Arrive earlier than you think. Free activations can hit capacity long before their posted closing time.
  • Reservations do not always eliminate the line. Leave extra time between scheduled experiences.
  • Bring water, sunscreen and a portable charger. Many lines are outdoors with limited shade.
  • Bring a government-issued ID. Some activations are restricted to guests ages 18 or 21 and older.
  • Check the linked event page the morning you attend. Hours, age limits, reservation systems and giveaway quantities can change.
  • Free entry does not always mean everything inside is free. Food, drinks and merchandise may be available for purchase.

We’re updating this list as more Comic-Con chaos is announced.
