Rugila Jones is the founder of Careless Wins Styled By Ru, an online women’s boutique and styling brand based in San Diego. With more than 15 years in the fashion industry and a background in Fashion Merchandising & Design, she launched Careless Wins to bring effortless, elevated style to women who want to feel confident without overthinking it.
Originally from Lithuania, Rugila has lived in Atlanta, Austin, and Los Angeles, but San Diego is the place that truly feels like home. The city’s mix of coastal ease, creativity, wellness, and community heavily inspires both her personal style and her brand aesthetic.
When she’s not sourcing new pieces, styling clients, or creating content for the boutique, you’ll usually find her exploring local coffee shops, supporting small businesses and markets, spending time by the beach, or connecting with San Diego’s creative and fashion community.
Point being: she has taste, she has range, and she knows a good vibe when she sees one.

Location: East Village
Best for: Happy hour, date night, and impressing out-of-town friends
“One of my favorite happy hours in San Diego and easily one of the best steakhouses in the city. The atmosphere is cozy with rustic western vibes, and it feels elevated without being overly pretentious. Perfect for date night or hosting friends from out of town.”
Location: Escondido
Best for: A weekend escape without fully leaving town
“Such a gorgeous and unique winery tucked near the Safari Park. I love the scenic views, live music, food trucks, outdoor games and relaxed atmosphere. It feels like a hidden gem and makes for the perfect weekend escape without leaving San Diego County.”
Location: Mission Bay
Best for: Girls day, coffee catch-ups, and waterfront hangs
“One of my go-to café spots for a girls day or coffee catch-up. The outdoor seating right on the water is beautiful, and the whole place has such a fresh, laid-back San Diego feel.”
Location: Bankers Hill
Best for: Casual hangs, beer, cider, and a seriously good burger
“Family and dog-friendly with an amazing beer and cider selection, but honestly, the food is what keeps me coming back. Everything is good, ESPECIALLY the smash burger. The vibes are casual, cute, and very San Diego.”
Location: Normal Heights
Best for: Spicy margaritas and happy hour plans that escalate quickly
“My favorite spot for spicy margaritas — and I’m very picky about my spicy margs. Their cocktails and authentic Mexican food are both incredible, and the happy hour deals Tuesday through Friday from 12-6 PM are unheard of and make it even better!”
